Ask the Lord what is your vision for me and my relationship with food and my body image in 2026 or beyond?
What is your vision for that? And Lord, how can I start taking steps towards that in 2026 and today? What daily habits will support that vision that the Lord gives you for your relationship with food and your body image? What weekly rhythms will support that vision?
Welcome to Your Daily Bread podcast. I'm your host, Abbie Stasior, a registered dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor. My prayer is that these bite-sized episodes will help you heal your relationship with food and improve body image, as well as help you grow closer to God. Now, I can't personally heal you, but each week I'll be directing you to the one that can, and that is Jesus. As a disclaimer, I'm not a pastor, but a sister in Christ providing you with some food for thought for you to bring to the Lord and into your quiet time as your daily bread. Let's dig in.
Hello. Hello. Welcome back to Your Daily Bread podcast, [00:01:00] y'all. I am so excited for this episode because. We, we got some work to do. Alright. We need to do some spring cleaning in December. And I pray that this episode helps us prep for the new year because there are some things that you can start to be doing now and reflecting on and evaluating before you get into the new year and just start taking action.
We don't want to take action. In a place, in an area that the Lord has not given us vision. We wanna make sure that what we're doing in life, especially when it comes to the new Year, when there's so many temptations to diet and do a new thing for our health, we, we need to make sure that we are doing what.
God wants us to do and that we're operating from a place of intercession, not comparison on Instagram. We wanna operate from Godly conviction, not comparison. I pray that this episode. He's really helpful for you to give you some tangible [00:02:00] action steps of what you can start doing. Now, I know the holidays are so busy, but if you get a quiet moment with the Lord to really sit with him and evaluate, how did this year go?
And, Lord, where do you wanna take me next? Lord, what is your vision for my life in 2026? This will just give you so much momentum going into the new year if you start to do this evaluation process now before you start to take action in the new year. And my pastor at our new church did a sermon on this and I'm gonna read some of the guiding questions that he gave us.
'cause he gave every single person. A worksheet with questions to go along with the scripture and I'm like, y'all, this is so good and literally everyone needs this. So I can't take credit for a lot of the insights here in, in this episode because it, number one, this sermon and these guiding questions like this, it was so timely for me and it that's why I love this new church that I'm going to where the Lord has called us in this season because the pastor is [00:03:00] confirming everything that the Lord has been telling me in my quiet time. And I love that. And I feel like that's how church should be. We shouldn't just be fed by our pastor. We need to be fed by the Lord. And Sundays really should be confirming what the Lord is telling you in your quiet time and keep propelling you forward and diving deeper and giving you clarity and like all, all of the things.
So, I heard this message and I really felt the Lord put this on my heart to share with everyone. I even was a little down a couple weeks ago because the Lord has me in such a season right now of leveling up and locking in and pruning, and I just feel like every area of my life is being poked and prodded and pruned and worked on with the Lord.
And it, it can be a lot. It really, it, it really, um, it, it, this is probably one of the toughest seasons I've ever been in. But I know that, the crushing and the pressing is needed. It's necessary and it's good and it's gonna lead to good fruit and good oil. And this, this is [00:04:00] necessary. But it, but it hasn't been easy.
And I was a little down a couple weeks ago and I was, I said to my fiance, I was like, I don't, I don't even really wanna go to church on the Sunday. 'cause I feel like I'm just gonna get slapped in the face again. Again, I just. I can't do it. But anyway, I went to church and it was great and the Lord is so loving and gentle, and just so sweet in, in his correction and redirection.
I think we just have to let his rod and his staff comfort us. Obedience eases the burden. And that's something that he's been repeating to me over and over. And yeah, so I think you'll really enjoy this episode. And I think that even in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas advent season approaching Jesus' birthday, it is.
It's a lot, but I just pray that you can find some quiet time to really go through what we're gonna talk about in this episode because I know that it will benefit you and you'll be able to walk into the new year with more momentum and more confidence. Father God, thank you so much for this [00:05:00] day. Lord, we praise you and thank you that your mercies are new every single day.
Lord, we know that there is so much hustle and bustle in this season, but you call us to be still and know that you are God. Thank you Lord. For being Emmanuel, God with us. Thank you for never leaving us nor forsaking us. Lord, I pray that in this episode you give us ears to hear and hearts to receive.
Lord, soften our hearts so that can, we can receive the truths that you are depositing. To me to say to every single listener, to my pastor Lord. And I just pray that everything that's said in this episode is not what I want to say, but it's what you want to say to your people. Lord, thank you for helping me to feed your sheep.
I'm just, I'm so grateful. I pray that this is transformative for every single person listening on the other end. And it's in Jesus name we pray. Amen. We're gonna be in Haah chapter two verses [00:06:00] one. Three. This is the new King James version. I will stand my watch and set myself on the Rampart and watch to see what he will say to me and what I will answer when I am corrected.
Then the Lord answered me and said, write the vision and make it plain on tablets that he may run. Who reads it for the vision is yet for an appointed time. But at the end it will speak and it will not lie though. It Terry's wait for it because it will surely come. It will not Terry, the word of the Lord.
Y'all. I love how the start of this verse talks about ha beah saying, I will stand my watch and set myself on the Rampart, which my pastor had to tell me what a Rampart was, which I guess I could have Googled it or looked it up, but. I've always wondered, 'cause I always read that in Psalm [00:07:00] 91, but I never knew what it was.
But a Rampart is an elevated surface where the watchmen would set themselves up on so that they could be watching. So it's, it's an elevator service where Watchmen go to watch the Rampart. I will stand my watch and set myself on the Rampart. So we have to get ourselves to a place where we can hear from the Lord.
We need to have a place that we go and we need to make sure that we are removing distractions and hindrances that prevent us from getting to that place where we can hear the Lord and then it says, and watch to see what He will say to me and what I will answer when I am corrected Sobe in this.
Verse has the heart posture to know and the humility to know that they are gonna be corrected and we all need a little correcting. And because the Lord loves us so much, whenever we get correction, [00:08:00] it's loving correction from a loving father. He corrects us because he loves us. And so we have to make sure that we are getting in the right heart posture, humbling ourselves.
\ So that we can receive his correction and receive that feedback in a good way, in a productive way, and almost be expecting to be corrected knowing that we're not getting everything right. So there's a lot of humility there. Part of this is. We have to get ourselves in the right posture to hear from the Lord, and we have to get ourselves in the right position to hear from the Lord.
If you don't already have a go-to place for your quiet time, a secret place from the Lord, maybe that's a prayer closet or a I. I'm always walking around. This one park in Nashville that, that, I love this one walking trail. And I have a place on my couch where I always go. And when it's not the freezing cold out, I'll go out on my porch and I always sit in the same chair.
So I have these positions where I go and the things that I do, the spiritual practice that that open [00:09:00] my heart up to the Lord and make it so I can hear from him. So I have a place, I have a time, and I have practices that help me get into the right heart posture to hear from the Lord this will be important for you to figure out and ask the Lord, okay, where is there clutter in my life?
What distractions do I need to eliminate? What sins, what patterns, what habits, what behaviors do I need to surrender? What are things that I need to stop doing because it's getting in the way of me getting into my quiet time to get in the right position to hear from the Lord what's getting in the way of my heart.
So I don't have the right heart posture to hear his correction at all, or hear his correction as loving correction from a loving father. And for me, I really had to evaluate my morning and evening routines. I had to stop snoozing, so I went back to a regular alarm clock that wakes me up and I turn that off and I don't, I have not figured out the snooze on this [00:10:00] Google Home alarm clock.
Praise God. Like by the grace of God, I haven't figured out this snooze. So I have that wake me up at like 4 55 in the morning. 'cause I do like to snooze for like a couple minutes or like use a couple like five minutes to wake me up in the morning. I have that alarm set for 4:55 AM and then I have my phone in my kitchen, so it's out of my room that has my alarm for 5:00 AM So I physically have to get up to turn that off.
And then from there I got my water right there. I light my candles and I just get into my morning routine to then go from the kitchen to my living room, which is not very far 'cause I'm in a one bedroom apartment at the time of this recording and. I sit down on my couch, that's just a few steps away from my kitchen, and if y'all have been on Zoom or coaching calls with me, you know I got my pink couch.
So that's where I sit and I do my quiet time and it's, I just have my, my morning rhythm. I really try and not turn off my alarm and go back to bed. That was I habit that the Lord was like, you need to stop doing that, but. [00:11:00] You're kind of shaming yourself for being so tired in the morning because you're not doing the work to actually get to bed earlier.
So yes, I needed to clean up my morning routine, but to make myself successful with getting up in the morning and having adequate sleep and really being rested, I needed to work on my. Evening routine and my wind down routine and everything I do once I'm done with work, how I decompress in a healthy way and unplug from electronics and things like that.
So I, the Lord has really been calling me to clean up my morning and evening routines because it was getting in the way and kind of eating into my quiet time. 'cause I was snoozing so much because I was so tired. 'cause my routines were off. I didn't have the right patterns and the right habits. So. I had to clean that up so that I can really prioritize my quiet time, have longer quiet time because I'm getting up earlier.
I mean, there's only so many hours in the day, so I needed to get myself in a position to be able to wake up earlier. And it is easier to go to bed earlier when it gets dark earlier. So this [00:12:00] season is actually a really good time to start these types of habits. And this is stuff that I work on with my clients too, is like, tangibly what does your morning, evening routine look like and what are the dynamics of your household and your family and your kids and their bedtime and working on all of that.
So I do work on that with clients individually. 'cause I know we all need help with this and to just talk it out and, and the flow, the choreography, the footwork of. Your routines that make sense for your home and everything that you need and want to do, as long as we just gotta talk it out. So I needed to do that for myself.
And that has helped me to prioritize my quiet time and really get myself in a position and to have adequate time to hear from the Lord. So I want you to be thinking, okay, what distractions do I need to eliminate? What patterns, habits, sins do you need to surrender? And how will you intentionally create space to listen for God this week, the Lord is always speaking, but it's really hard to hear his gentle whisper when social media, when Netflix is louder than scripture, [00:13:00] louder than his gentle whisper. This is the work that we have to do this is on us. To do the work, to be disciplined in removing what we know we need to remove.
And , if you're not really sure what's a hindrance, ask the Lord to reveal that. What is getting in the way of me hearing from you, Lord, then the Lord, he, he'll tell you, he will tell you. It might not be what you wanna hear, but he will tell you.

Okay, let's get back to the episode.
Because Abeka, says, I will stand my watch. I will set myself. That part is on us, but then we're in a position where we hear from the Lord. So once we get that vision from the Lord, once we get that direction, write it down, make it plain, write it out. Then run. It says that he may run who reads it.
So take that word from the Lord and run with it. And this is for an appointed time. So run whenever he tells you to run and it will come to pass. It will not Terry.
So it's important to ask yourself, okay, what is God speaking to me in this season? What burden or desire has [00:15:00] God placed in my heart? And what has God already put in my hands that you can start working with, right? It's not always a, a new thing. Sometimes God just wants you to steward better the thing that you already have.
Like for me, it's not like I needed more time in my quiet time with the Lord. I just needed to steward be better the time that he already gave me. What step of faith is God asking you to take next in your life and write that down.
I think asking questions to the Lord, like, what do I need to start doing? What do I need to stop doing and what do I need to strengthen? Can be very helpful, especially as we're evaluating how this year went, and so you can be praying through these things these next couple weeks and take action on them as soon as he tells you to, but especially in the new year.
And then learning how, how to walk, walk in this. What daily habits will support the vision that the Lord has given you? What weekly [00:16:00] rhythms will support the vision that the Lord has given you? If you ask the Lord what is your vision for me and my relationship with food and my body image in 2026 or beyond?
What is your vision for that? And Lord, how can I start taking steps towards that in 2026 and today? What daily habits will support that vision that the Lord gives you for your relationship with food and your body image? What weekly rhythms will support that vision? And then who do I need to partner with?
Who in your life can help you executing this vision, keeping your eyes on the vision that the Lord has given you? Those are some really good questions to think about as we go into the new Year. And so part of this is on us to get ourselves in a position where we can hear from the Lord and have the right heart posture to receive the vision that he gives us and the correction that he gives us.
And then once we get that confirmation from the Lord, once you receive that vision, write it down. Keep it in your line of vision and run after and take action. So I hope that this [00:17:00] blesses someone and that it is helpful going into the new year. I love y'all very much and I will see y'all next week.
